Rockets over the Red returns to the banks of the Red River SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, LA-Rockets Over the Red is back! After an eight year hiatus, the fireworks festival and event will take place, Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets. This year's organizer is Cumulus Broadcasting, and it's being sponsored by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau and Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets.

Festivities will kick off at 2 p.m. with live music, arts and crafts, and food vendors. But the main event, a spectacular fireworks show, will light up the sky at 6:30 p.m. Durr's Pyromania promises a show that the community will remember.

“We are pleased to see this event come back,” said Stacy Brown, president of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. “It's a great quality of life event for residents and an event that has mass appeal to our out-of-area visitors.”

The event will be broadcast live by partner KTAL News Channel 6. It is a free event and open to the public. There will be kids' activities, plus all of the shops and restaurants will be open at the Boardwalk for pre or post shopping and entertainment.

Cumulus Broadcasting works closely with the US Marines for the annual Toys For Tots event. They are encouraging festival-goers to donate a new unwrapped toy to children in the community.

This event is free to the public. For more information visit www.rocketsoverthered.com, listen to your favorite radio stations NASH FM 101.1, KMJJ 99.7, Magic 102.9 and i97.3 or call 318-549-8500.
